Feel good folk
Rich Follett has entertained audiences throughout the U.S. and abroad for more than twenty-five years. His CD recordings of original contemporary folk music A Place In the Circle and Christmas In My Heart are available worldwide through Amazon.com., and his song Shenandoah Christmas has been a favorite on Valley Radio for more than twenty years now. He has performed as a featured artist at The Kennedy Center, the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival, and for twelve seasons as The Merrie Minstrel at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Rich has appeared frequently in productions at Virginia’s Wayside Theatre and has toured extensively with many professional productions. He is an award-winning poet and songwriter with numerous publications to his credit.
Rich is a National Board certified teacher of tenth-grade English, Speech, and Theatre for the Public School System, has been named six times to the Who’s Who Among America ‘s Teachers and for the past nine years has taught Theatre Arts for Northern Virginia ‘s PAVAN enrichment program for gifted and talented youth. He frequently employs guitar and vocal music as a teaching tool in the classroom (you just haven’t lived until you have corrected the grammar in country songs and have sung the results in class). Rich was the recipient of a 2004 Fulbright Memorial Fund scholarship, through which he visited Japan as an educational ambassador. The Virginia Association of Speech, Debate and Drama coaches named him Theatre Coach of the year for 2010. He is proud and excited to be a part of both the growing and thriving Arts community in the Shenandoah Valley.
